Special Treatment For A Weekend Injury

There is never a good time or convenient time to suffer an injury or illness. But families with active children know that kids can pick the most inopportune times to fall from skateboards and bicycles or sprain an ankle sliding into second base. Generally these types of mishaps occur on a Saturday when both parents have their honey-do lists and trying to find a doctor to see a young patient on short notice is almost impossible. Then they think of their neighborhood Urgent and Primary Care Clinic. They have been there for a stuffy nose but the sign on the door says 'Urgent" and this is an urgent matter.
The Urgent and Primary Care Clinics are not just for kids. They can see and help a mother's adult kid, too. How many husbands begin the day with their to-do list and by Noon it has become an oops list? Thank goodness the clinic can help him with the back ache from carrying too many garbage bags, banged knuckles from trying to build that tree house, and the awful allergic reaction to the yellow jackets that stung him while he tried to trim the shrubs. While some injuries can be the result of poor judgment, an illness like the allergic reaction can become quite serious without proper treatment.

To be fair, even mothers can have times when they need the services of an Urgent and Primary Care Clinic - especially one that is open after regular business hours, Saturdays and even Sundays by appointment. Some women try to be superwoman by circumstances and need. A single mother needs to remain at work to earn the income to support her family. Sometimes taking two or three hours out of the middle of the day can affect take-home pay. This woman can work an Urgent and Primary Care Clinic into her schedule for things as simple as flu shots or a sinus infection to more complicated matters like pap smears and well-woman care.
Then there are those instances when a family member may have the chills, fever and other unpleasant symptoms and they do not feel like leaving the house to see a doctor or physician. There are Urgent and Primary Care Clinics that have house calls on their list of available services. This is something that most patients believe went the way of the dinosaur at least 40 years ago. It is really comforting to know that anyone in the household who might become ill can have a doctor come to them. It is especially nice for those who live alone and do not have anyone around that they can call at a moment's notice to care for them. Obviously if it is an emergency like a heart attack or severe asthma attack, 911 is the number to call. But if the symptoms are those that accompany a severe ear infection and the patient cannot drive, a call to the Urgent and Primary Care Clinic is certainly in order.
